The Bible
The Bible is a set of books that express the relationship of love that God builds with mankind and His faithfulness to the beings He created.
The Bible is made up of the Old Testament which recounts the creation of the world, the formation of the people of Israel, the Messiah’s announcement and the New Testament which relates the life of Jesus Christ, the formation of the Church and the advent of Jesus.
All these books have been written under God’s inspiration.
The Bible is the Word of God.
Always current, it enables us to know our Creator in truth, to feed and guide Christians’ faith and to bring the right answers to the questions of humankind.
If you read the Bible for the first time, here’s how to work out where you are : each book is divided into chapters themselves divided into verses.
Most of the time, a table of contents can be found at the beginning of the Bibles along with their abbreviations.
You can buy it in bookshops, specialised shops or on the internet.
Some websites offer to look it up online or download it for free and you can find applications to download it on your smartphone or tablet.
As evangelical Protestants, the Bible we use is made up of 66 books.
Here is a word of Jesus in John 8:12, that is, in the gospel book of John chapter 8 verse 12:
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
